Although in Lithuania, as in many other countries of the world, quarantine rules are set to be relaxed, we warn that international shipments are still significantly delayed - delays are possible from a week or even up to 10 additional weeks, depending on the country of destination.
We would also like to draw your attention to the tracking of shipments on our website. The status of a shipment (or otherwise events) also change accordingly at a slower rate, and some may stay in one state for several weeks, depending on how fast the shipment moves and whether the country to which the shipment is being sent shares the required information. Please note that although the same event lasts for more than one week in the shipment tracking table, it does not mean that your shipment is lost - it travels, only due to prolonged logistics processes or lack of information from foreign post offices, the status of the shipment changes more slowly.
Understanding the problems customers face due to delays, we have done and continue to do everything in our power throughout the quarantine to reach the recipients of the shipment as quickly as possible. Before the pandemic, about 90 percent. consignments from Lithuania were exported by air. When all flights were suspended in a matter of days, we replaced airline routes in Europe with ground transportation, and for destinations outside Europe, we looked for alternatives through larger airports, often with new agreements with airlines, splitting shipments across several airlines. It is important to mention that during the quarantine period, the number of shipments to some countries has doubled, so it is not always possible to accommodate them in one trip, which is currently also less, which means that the shipment stays unplanned in our logistics center. Post offices in other countries also face challenges - even after the arrival of the parcel, the virus has changed the organization of postal work in many countries, reduced working hours, reduced staff capacity, which also leads to slower parcel travel within the country. Most of these changes still remain. Unfortunately, despite the efforts made, we see that the situation will not change in the near future, especially in the countries most affected by the virus, where the flow of shipments is highest.
